The Department of Zoology was started during the year 1972. PG Aquaculture was started during the year 1997 as a financing course which was later converted into a full fledged government supporting course which is of application oriented thereby generating employment for the students. Postgraduate Course in Zoology was started in 2013-2014. The Department has produced 53 Ph.D in Zoology till date. Our Department Staff Dr. P. Martin received UGC Major Research Project – 2009 and also a Minor research Project from TANSCHE- 2013. Dr. K.Elumalai, Received Major Research Project from UGC in the year 2013 and he also received Young Scientist Project –DST in the year 2014.
