Physical exercise meditation and kayakalpa training designed by Mahan yogiraj, philosopher Father Vedantheri Mahareshi

The inception of yoga program took place on 20-01-2015, Tuesday in the auspicious presence of Dr. Nandagopal M.A., M.phil., Ph.D., under the supervision of Dr. A. Kala M.Sc., M.phil., Ph.D.,

In this learning programme students were trained under the guidance of Prof. Karunakaran, trustee saidai Jones Road Manavazhakalaimantram. Minimum hundred students were imparted training everyday 20-01-15 to 30-01-15 by a group of six professors under the headship of Prof.Banumoorthy. This yoga training imparts peace of mind and brings out the inner potentials of students undergoing various mental trauma.

On 08-09-2015 the yoga a training programme was inaugurated by Dr.S.Sasikala and the introductory address was given by Dr.A.Kala who has done here post-graduation in yoga and human values which is evident from her speech. The Special guest of this learning program wasMrs. Suguna,the deputy secretary of higher education.

The same professors imparted training from 08-09-15 to 22-09-15. Students in large numbers and professors participated in this program. Hand exercise was demonstrated as initial part of this training. Then meditation muthirai and meditation exercises were taught to the students and the program ended with vote of thanks.

Yoga program was imparted to the students for two days i.e 18-09-16 and19-09-16 under constant encouragement of the present Principal Dr.AmudhaPandian as president and Dr.Kala as the co-ordinator training the students.

Mr.C.Thangaraj, Assit.Commissioner of police, Saidapet zone appreciated the efforts taken to promote this program which should be extended to other colleges. The striking impact of this program was that many students booked under FIRgave up their smoking as well as their addiction to other bad habits. They are enlightened to lead a new life concentrating more on their studies.

On the whole the yoga learning program gave a fresh life to the students and they benefitted much out of it.

The implement of yoga as Part of internal assessment in curriculum is introduced for first year student (2016-2017) batch. Each and every class was assigned yoga training and evaluation of the same was conducted in various batches

The feedback of first year student who took this yoga commented that they do not yield themselves to any kind of activities like smoking and drinking. Part time job goers felt that frequent yoga practice allows them to get relieved of their body pain and helps them to carry their duties with zeal and enthusiasm
